Dr. Gustafson is originally from Victoria, BC. After undergraduate and graduate school in Toronto, Dr. Gustafson completed Medical school at UBC as the top student in OB/Gyn. She completed residency in OB/Gyn at the University of Alberta in 2006. For the last decade she has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in South Surrey/White Rock.
In addition to general Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Gustafson also has an interest in management of menopause and osteoporosis. She cares for patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis in her clinic and at the Peace Arch Hospital Healthy Bones Program. She is also a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified menopause practitioner. She has presented to her colleagues on these topics at national conferences. She is an Assistant Professor at UBC in the department of Ob/Gyn.
Dr. Gustafson has full privileges at Peace Arch Hospital. She performs gynecologic surgery, including advanced laparoscopy, such as laparoscopic hysterectomies. When required, she performs C-sections and assisted vaginal deliveries.
She has taken up competitive swimming at an advanced age. She is married to a Family Physician and has 2 busy kids and an Italian dog.
